People, Places and Remarkable Events will be our theme drawing from the 222 years of the colonial process. It aims to raise our attention to the lesser known aspects of our shared history and to show the resultant impact of colonization on the lives of Aboriginal people.

AUSTRALIAN HISTORY

In 2010 Australian History will undertake biographical studies of great, well known, prominent Australians from the services, the arts, politics, sport and the sciences; such folk as John Quick, Enid Lyons and Douglas Nichols.

Course Description
To continue a wide ranging study of history , in the spirit of Tom Comerford's class. Each session will be devoted to historical events , movements or characters chosen by the participants . Each participant will be encouraged to
make a contribution to their chosen topic .

None

Expectation of participants
It is expected of participants in this class that they will undertake some independent research of an event or contemporary associated with the reign of each of the popes under study. For the July session it would be helpful if participants had researched aspects of any one of the following: the Farnese family, the Jesuit Order, the Council of Trent, Michelangelo, the Carafa family, or the Index.
